Edmentum’s suite of solutions relies heavily on a robust backend software system — and a lot of development resources. As is often the case when scouting top-tier technical talent, Edmentum found it difficult to fully staff its development teams. The company utilized contractors and offshore teams to supplement its internal development staff.

Seeking Flexibility In Offshore Teams

After experiences with other offshore vendors yielded less than desirable results, Edmentum sought a new partner. The Edmentum team came to MentorMate looking for access to a flexible workforce that could scale up or down with its business needs. Specifically, they were looking for highly-skilled developers that could join existing sprints and integrate seamlessly into the company’s team structure. Each team is focused on a specific Edmentum offering and is continuously enhancing the product. As the backlog evolves, Edmentum staffs the team accordingly without having to go through an arduous hiring — or downsizing — process.
